Description
The Solling formation is the youngest lithostratigraphic unit of the Middle Bunt sandstone. Its basis is particularly developed in the southeast of the investigated area as a clear discordance (so-called H-discordance). Throughout the southwest and in the areas along the salt structures, the formation completely lacks due to erosion discordance at the base of the lower chalk. The low altitude generally increases from northwest to southeast. High altitudes are mainly above the salt cushions Leila/Lilli and Hulda as well as along the Diapir flanks of the salt wall Lollo/Lisa.
