Surface Water Quality Indicators: Phosphate content in rivers (2021)
Description
The increase in phosphates in the environment, like that of other nutrients, can be used to assess water quality, and is measured periodically as it triggers eutrophy processes. The boundary value used for the phosphate index is the value of the limit set in the RDSE between the good and moderate state for each type of river. The typologies without legal limit have been recorded as “No Valuation”.
This analysis considered all the data of phosphate substances extracted from the Monitoring Programmes (monitoring and operational control programme) intended to assess the status, in compliance with state and European regulations, of which information is available in NABIA (System of Exchange of Information on the Status and Quality of Waters).
