LOFAR (detail map zone 1) (OGV, 2010) (history)
Description
The Environmental Vision was adopted by Provinciale Staten van Drenthe on 2 June 2010. The detailed zoning is indicated on the accompanying map 1 (Vision card). LOFAR (Low Frequency Array) performs measurements at low frequencies. About 7,000 small antennas capture signals from space. The signals are processed by a supercomputer into images studied by astronomers. The antennas are set up in clusters in the central LOFAR area of 400 hectares between Exloo and Buinen and on about eighteen antenna fields (approximately two hectares) spread over Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel. This detailed map shows the area of approximately 400 ha on both sides and the Achterste Diep, in the area referred to as Uilenbroeken, Zuurse Landen and Kakenbroeken.
