REDIAM. WMS HIC 92A0-1 Mediterranean Olmedas
Description
WMS service corresponding to Habitat of Non-Priority Community Interest 92A0-1. Corresponds to riparian olmedas. When they have a good state of conservation, they are very dense multi-stratified forests, of an average height of around 13 (20 m), dominated by elms (Ulmus minor), although the presence of scattered ash trees or poplars is not uncommon. The shrub stratum has a quite variable coverage, where lianas and thorny shrubs such as Hedera helix, Rubus ulmifolius, Asparagus acutifolius, Lonicera implexa, Rubia peregrina, Bryonia cretica subsp. dioica, Clematis campaniflora, Tamus communis, Smilax aspera, Vitis vinifera subsp. sylvestris, Crataegus monogyna, Rosa canina, etc. stand out, although it is common for the elm itself to dominate, since it proliferates very well in a stoloniferous way. Although the herbaceous stratum is usually not very developed, there are several species that compose it, especially scionitrophilic therophytes, geophytes and hemicryptophytes such as Arum italicum, A. cylindraceum, Ranunculus ficaria, Geum urbanum, Brachypodium phoenicoides or B. sylvaticum.
