Emissions trends 1990-2013
Description
In the report ‘Emission trends 1990-2013’, the Federal Environment Agency provides an overview of anthropogenic air pollutant emissions in Austria: • Dust – total suspended particulate matter, particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) • Ozone precursor substances – nitrogen oxides, non-methane volatile hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide • Acidifying and eutrophicating air pollutants – sulphur dioxide, ammonia, nitrogen oxides • heavy metals – cadmium, mercury, lead • Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) • Greenhouse gases – carbon dioxide, methane, laughing gas, fluorinated gases Trends and causes of Austrian emissions are analysed, the current data are compared with nationally and internationally agreed environmental targets. The data is based on the Austrian Air Pollutant Inventory, which the Federal Environment Agency prepares annually.
