Ecological Continuity Ranking Segment — Martinique
Description
An Ecological Continuity Classification corresponds to all or part of a course or channel identified in an order made by the Basin Coordinating Prefect pursuant to Article L.214-17 of the Environmental Code.
The classification into list 1 (1° of § I of Article L. 214-17 of the Environmental Code) is intended to protect certain rivers from degradation and allows a long-term preservation objective to be displayed.
They cancel, replace, and complete the classification as “reserved rivers” under the 1919 Act.
List 2 (2° of § 1 of Article L. 214-17 of the Environmental Code), annuls, replaces and supplements the concept of ‘rivers classified’ under L. 432-6 of the Environmental Code, must make it possible to ensure quickly that existing works are compatible with the objectives of ecological continuity.
The Ecological Continuity Ranking contributes among other things to the blue frame.
The founding regulatory text of an Ecological Continuity Classification is the classification order signed by the Basin Coordinating Prefect in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article R.214-10 of the Environmental Code providing for departmental consultation of classification projects before validation by the Basin Coordinating Prefect.
After consultation at departmental level, the prefect of the department sends to the basin committee a preliminary draft of Lists L.214-17-I for advisory opinion with a view to classifying under L.214-17-I.
Once the opinion of the basin committee has been obtained, the Basin Coordinating Prefect decides whether or not to proceed with the classification.
The Ecological Continuity Classification corresponds to the information mentioned in the classification orders.
An Ecological Continuity Classification Segment corresponds to the smallest level of composition of the Ecological Continuity Rankings. It allows the link to the national hydrographic repository.
The limit to the sea is the transverse limit of the sea.
