Geological 3D-model of the deeper subsurface of Lower Saxony as 3D PDF
Description
The geological 3D model of the lower subsoil of Lower Saxony is based on data from the Geotectonic Atlas of Northwest Germany and the German North Sea sector (BALDSCHUHN et al. 2001).
The 14 stratigraphic units of the Geotectonic Atlas are shown. The quaternary base area (based on: NLfB 1995) as well as the terrain surface.
The geological units are depicted in the 3D model as geobodies or as base areas. No areas were modelled in areas of insufficient data. In general, it should be noted that the Geotectonic Atlas has a current status of 1993, more recent information is not yet incorporated.
The model is provided sheet-cut (TK100) in Portfolio PDF files. In addition to the model as a 3D PDF, the portfolio also contains instructions, explanations of geology and further links. Adobe Acrobat Reader in the current version is recommended for the correct presentation of the portfolio as well as the 3D PDF files.
