Financial instruments: From-whom-to-whom matrices; No, 1999- Q4 2023
Description
This table presents the so-called from-whom-to-whom matrices of a number of major financial instruments. The matrices provide information on debtor-to-creditor relationships between sectors. A three-dimensional presentation gives an overview of financial transactions, price changes and revaluations, other changes in volume and balance sheet positions and the sectors involved. The sector on the asset side is the creditor and the sector on the liability side is the debtor. The various sectors are non-financial corporations, financial institutions, general government, households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH) and the rest of the world. In addition, the financial corporations and general government sectors are further broken down by subsectors.

Status of figures:
Data from 1999 to 2020 are final. Data from 2021, 2022 and 2023 are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, provisional data are no longer definitive.

The Central Bureau of Statistics recently revised the national accounts. New sources, methods and concepts are introduced into the national accounts, so that the picture of the Dutch economy is optimally aligned with all underlying statistics, sources and international guidelines for compiling the national accounts.
