Job centres (MDE) welcome and advise job seekers.
Since 2010, a job seeker (DE) domiciled in the territory covered by an MDE can, as part of the individualised support, meet his advisor 'referent Forem' in the premises of the MDE, provided that the municipality in which this DE is domiciled and the municipality in which the MDE is located are part of the same Regional Directorate of Forem. The other DEs will have to go to the premises of the Regional Directorate (RD) of the Forem on which they depend.
The EDM indicator indicates whether there is an active EDM in the territory (‘yes’ or ‘no’).
The MDE can be located on the municipal territory or on that of one of the partner municipalities when the MDE operates in inter-municipality. An EDM may have several units of establishments spread over the (inter)municipal territory covered. The first MDEs were inaugurated on 1/1/2002. Further EDMs were subsequently opened.
