DISTRICT SCHELDT “AUTHORITIES”
Description
District Authorities Escaut corresponds to the division of the District Escaut according to the different authorities that animate it:
Brussels, Flanders, France, Netherlands and Wallonia.
A DCE basin corresponds to: — or to a national river basin district (example: Courses
of Corsican water)
— or to a portion of an international river basin district located on the
territory of a Member State (examples:
the Meuse;
the Sambre).
Each WFD basin has a coordinating competent authority which is the body responsible for the implementation of the WFD within the WFD basin.
Its cartographic representation is the aggregation of polygons of the administrative DCE sub-basins composing it.
