Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders - Additional potential energy production from photovoltaic panels - technical scenario
Description
This map layer is part of the Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders. In this technical scenario, the theoretical, technical maximum with regard to the additional production potential is estimated for photovoltaic panels (PV). The available space is defined within which the technology can be used to the maximum to produce energy. This demarcation is achieved through a combination of positive and negative spatial preconditions. Both the potential on roofs (residential and non-residential) and ground-based PV on vacant plots of industrial estates, brownfields and in the verges of motorways and railways were taken into account in this technical potential. Current PV installations and the open space reduced the available space. For more information, see the report. The hotspots in Flanders are presented with a filtered image of the results. The figures per municipality can also be consulted in the attached table.
