Alternative cycling routes (TRIBUTE project proposal)
Description
With its green areas, the Drava River and the surrounding urban environment, Maribor has great potential for the further development of green, more pleasant and less traffic-congested urban cycling routes. The project thus established a system of pilot alternative urban cycling routes, which run as far as possible through areas closed to traffic, which connect the natural and cultural features of Maribor and quality catering services. They are intended not only for cycling enthusiasts, hikers and tourists in the city of Maribor and its surroundings, but also for locals. The purpose of their establishment is to ensure maximum safety for cyclists and developmentally coordinated new and accessible paths for peaceful cycling in the most "green" areas of the city of Maribor, where motor vehicles do not dominate.
