Open and closed landscapes topmap_1969 (1952-1969)

Description

Displays the location of open and closed landscapes on the topo1969. The classification is based on the occurrence of wood edges, rows of trees, forests and orchards. Closed landscapes occur in places with high concentrations on wood sides (=bocage), forest or orchards. Concentrations of more than 7.5 km of wood edges and/or rows of trees per km2 as well as environments with forests and orchards are considered a closed landscape. An open landscape offers views of a wide area. There are few or no visual impediments. A semi-open landscape is characterized by more see-through and filtering light. It consists of concentrations of rows of trees (= columns). At the bottom they are relatively open, so that it is possible to see between the tribes. At the top of the crowns they are closed earlier.
