Fisheries and aquaculture; quantity of fish, crustaceans and molluscs
Description
This table shows the quantities of fish landed in Dutch ports by Dutch and other EU vessels (EU=European Union). The table presents only the main types of fish broken down into fresh fish and quick-frozen fish. Fresh fish is mainly landed at the fish auctions. Frozen fish is not traded through auctions, but goes directly to the trader, the catering industry or the fish processing industry.
In addition to fish from landings, the table also includes quantities of mussels and oysters produced from farmed plots and quantities of farmed fish produced.
NB. The European Union (EU) regulates sea and coastal fishing with a quota system.
However, the landing figures in this table are not comparable to the fishing quotas set by the EU for the Netherlands, because other EU vessels also land fish in the Netherlands and the quotas can be exchanged.

Status of figures:
The monthly data published in the table are marked 'provisional' at first publication. In the autumn following the year under review, CBS will publish the final monthly figures and the final annual figure. The figures up to 2021 are final.
Changes as of 20 June 2024:
The preliminary monthly figures of March 2024 and April 2024 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
The figures are provided irregularly. The new figures will be posted as soon as they become available.
