Description
Representation of icing boundaries and the position of moraine structures on the geological map of Lower Saxony 1: 50 000.
The representation of the icing limits traces the maximum spread of glacial glaciers in Lower Saxony. In the upper resin, the range of the resin’s own glaciation during the Vistula cold time is shown. For the other areas of Lower Saxony, the general icing limit gives indications on the maximum range of inland ice in the Pleistocene. With the end and tugging moraines in the Saale area, the distribution and location of characteristic and distinctive final and lingering stages of significant advances of Saale-era inland ice is depicted.
These data are line information that is stored digitally and, if necessary, output together with the geological data of the GK50 base map.
Only in conjunction with the geological information in the background, e.g. the dynamics and distribution of cold-era ice advances in Lower Saxony can be grasped.
