Quiet areas and inner-city recreation areas 2018
Description
For the purposes of the Environmental Noise Directive, ‘quiet areas’ are large, contiguous open spaces, in some cases also in combination with interconnections in neighbouring landscape areas with low noise levels. As the “quiet areas” primarily cover the remote areas, the noise action plan has formed a second category with “local recreation areas”. They have a high residency function and are significantly quieter in their core area than on their periphery.
