Local chronicles in the stock of the Schleswig-Holstein State Library

Description

Local chronicles are comprehensive chronological representations of local history. They record the everyday history and home history of a place and are often written by lay people, the local researchers. Local chronicles are an important part of the Landesbibliothek — they exist as both historical (1723) and very current collections.These are among the country-historical works that enjoy special attention and are repeatedly in demand by local researchers, local chronists and family researchers — the interest of history in local history has increased. As of 2020, we have a stock of about 1300 local chronicles, which are listed in the online catalogue. For several years, we have internally provided these chronicles with call marks, so that it is possible to record these local chronicles separately.
