Geographical grid dataset showing the soil cover in Flanders and Brussels, condition 2001.Soil cover is the biophysical state of the earth's surface. Originally, the term referred only to the vegetation that covered the soil, but human structures such as buildings are also classified as soil cover.The soil cover stock was derived from 3 LANDSAT-7 ETM+ satellite images from the year 2001 using a semi-automatic classification.The soil resolution is 15m, the soil cover is classified into 9 classes.
