REDIAM. WMS HIC 4030-0 Thermophilic heaths
Description
WMS service corresponding to Habitat of Non-Priority Community Interest 4030-0 of shrub formations, frequently dense, medium to low in size with Calluna vulgaris and species of heather (Erica spp.), aulaga (Genista spp., Stauracanthus spp., Ulex spp.), jara (Cistus spp.) and jaguarzo (Halimium spp.) as dominant species. They are limited to areas with Atlantic influence within the Mediterranean climate. They develop on acidic or decarbonated, sandy and nutrient-poor substrates. They are closely associated with the presence of disturbances such as fire. Some of their communities are related to the abundance of metals in the soil environment.
In these heaths we can find exceptional species, taxonomically and functionally, such as Drosophyllum lusitanicum, as well as strict endemic species such as Erica andevalensis.
