Biomass of Maurolicus muelleri and Benthosema glaciale from SEAPODYM runs in North East Atlantic 1998-2022
Description
Maurolicus muelleri and Benthosema glaciale biomass were modeled using SEAPODYM-LMTL (Low and Mid Trophic Levels) over Jan 1998 - Dec 2022.
SEAPODYM-LMTL is a pseudo 3D dynamical model that model populations of micronekton according to their dial vertical migration (Lehodey et al. 2010, Lehodey et al. 2015, Conchon 2016). Maurolicus muelleri is a migrant species, mostly found on the shelf and was modelled with the group D2N1. Benthosema glaciale inhabits deeper area in the open ocean and is also migrant, and was modelled with D3N1 and D2N1 groups. The model was adapted to Maurolicus muelleri and Benthosema glaciale by restricting recruitment areas.
The simulations were run on 1/12°, daily. The physical forcings (temperature and global currents) are from CMEMS reanalysis GLOBAL_REANALYSIS_PHY_001_030 product available at https://data.marine.copernicus.eu/product/GLOBAL_MULTIYEAR_PHY_001_030/. The primary production originates from the CLS Datastore
https://datastore.cls.fr/catalogues/primary-production/, the euphotic depth was computed from Morel's equation using surface chlorophyll a (Morel 1988).
Energy transfer coefficients were optimized from acoustic data (Lehodey et al. 2015).
