Back-up route classification

Description

Back-up route classification describes the usability of the road as a back-up route. The fallback route classification is defined for homogeneous road sections (road, road section, intersection) used by fallback routes, where the fallback route classification remains the same. If the limiting factor is a point-specific or short section of road, the section of road is formed between the junctions used by the back-up routes. Limiting factors related to the availability of the back-up route are recorded in the back-up route classification. The destination category does not include information on the spare routes (number/category) that pass through the road section. The data of the target category will be updated as changes have taken place on the road and in connection with the updating of the plans. In the event of a change in the emergency route classification, the category of emergency routes passing through the road section shall be revised in accordance with the change. Coverage: Roads, streets, ramps with an assigned target category Back-up route. The ELY Centres are responsible for maintaining the information. The target category is non-versionable.
