Floodplain condition — capturing, accounting and biotope evaluation Segments
Description
The floodplains contained in the data set “Flussauen in Germany 2021” have been divided into sections of 1 km each. These 1-km exterior segments are again divided into the units River, Recent Aue and Altaue (each right and left bank in the direction of flow). These so-called compartments form the geometric basis for all evaluations on land size, land use and protected areas. Notes on the methodology used are as BfN script 591 (Günther-Diringer et al. 2021) was published. Area calculation of the respective land use class per floodplain compartment based on the LBM-DE 2015 (Federal Office for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG)). Area calculation for the different protected area classes per floodplain compartment. After their occurrence in river floodplains and in terms of allocation to land use biotope types and FFH habitat types per floodplain compartment. In the case of floodplain compartments, which comprise several federal states, the information is given separately by state.
