Description

This administrative dataset is produced by Employment and Social Development Canada. It presents monthly beneficiary counts and benefit amounts paid under the Old Age Security program (OAS), beginning in April 2025. Since April 2025, these are produced using the Cúram benefit processing system. This dataset replaces, among other things, the OAS portion of the [Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security Statistical Bulletin]( https://publications.gc.ca/site/eng/9.500183/publication.html). Additional statistical tables will be added gradually as data becomes available. The data cover the Old Age Security (OAS) pension, the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), and the Allowances (the Allowance and the Allowance for the Survivor). They are presented by month, province or territory of residence, gender, and other relevant characteristics. To protect beneficiary confidentiality, counts are rounded to a multiple of 10 according to a predetermined pattern. Associated amounts are rounded in the same direction (up or down) to a multiple of $1,000. The data are provisional and may be revised at any time. Users are encouraged to consult [the accompanying document (ReadMe)](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/7ca30e18-619a-457a-8ee2-b9cc78938cad/resource/848322cd-0bb7-4a3a-8a76-09188475e8d1), which contains technical notes, a data dictionary, and a glossary. They should also exercise caution when comparing data produced before and after the system migration (April 2025).
