Laser Points Area Rhineland-Palatinate (LPG)
Description
In laser scanning, the laser scanner emits light pulses that are reflected by objects. The course of the terrain can be determined from the signal duration of the reflection as well as the position and position of the aircraft. The advantages of laser scanning are the comparatively low requirements for weather conditions and the possibility of achieving good altitude results in inaccessible areas.
‘Laser points terrain’ (LPG) describe the terrain surface without the objects on it as irregularly arranged points georeferenced in position and height. The terrain points were automatically selected as load pulses from the laser scan data.
