meteoblue summer report

Description

As climate change progresses, cities are more exposed to heat than their surroundings, making heat waves longer, more intense and more frequent in the future. Data from meteoblue’s meteorological urban climate monitoring network (since 2019) and satellite data are used to calculate high-resolution air temperature fields (10x10m) using artificial intelligence and the meteoblue urban climate model (MCCM). From these, various climatological indicators as well as the urban heat island effect can be calculated and thus the heat and cold load in the city of Zurich can be quantified. **Purpose**: Assessment of the urban climatological situation in Zurich
