In addition to the operations programmed for the improvement of the habitat (OPAH), intervention measures have been developed, such as the Programme of General Interest (PGI), which deals with specific problems relating to the improvement of the habitat, irrespective of overall actions to develop a territory or requalification a neighbourhood. It applies on a wider scale than the OPAH. Over a period of up to 5 years, the GIP allows to deal with particular difficulties, both in the social and technical fields of the habitat (PGI precariousness, unhealthy GIP, PIG sustainable habitat).
