With its plucky semi-dry grass, the Marchfeldschutzdamm is an extremely species-rich location. A total of 437 species were detected, of which no fewer 71 species are listed in the Red List of Endangered Plants in Austria. To develop a care concept, a mapping of pointer plants and floral elements of different plant societies was carried out in 1999. From the results, a care concept for the maintenance and promotion of favorable sections was compiled and compiled.
