Regional classification of forestry sites
Description
Within the framework of the two-stage forest site mapping, regional climate, landscape shape, rock character of a region and effects of the landscape history are used as characteristics relevant to the structure. The following levels of structure are used: Growth areas (large landscapes, which have certain uniform features in landscape form and rock character), growth district groups, growth districts, single growth districts and sub-districts. The delineation is geometrically consistent with the mapped site units.
