Description
Digital land cover model for Germany (LBM-DE2018), as of 2018.
The LBM-DE (until 2012 DLM-DE) contains land cover information within the meaning of the European nomenclature of CORINE Land Cover (CLC). The data base of the LBM-DE is based on selected spatial object types of the ATKIS® Base DLM from the areas of settlement, traffic, vegetation and waters, which have been adapted in modified form to the specific requirements of CLC. The minimum area of the dataset is 1 hectare. With the help of multitemporal satellite image data (main acquisition basis: RapidEye 5 m ground pixel resolution, 5 channels) the dataset has been updated since the nationwide initial recording in 2009 with a rhythm of three years to the respective reference year. Since 2012, land cover and land use have been recorded separately, followed by automatic transformation into the CLC nomenclature. While the land cover is recorded using image data, the ATKIS® base DLM of the respective reference year serves as a source of information for the aspect of land use.
