Inspire Download Service (predefined ATOM) for nitrate retention
Description
Description of INSPIRE Download Service (predefined Atom): The displacement of nitrate with leachate is to be regarded as a decisive factor in the risk of groundwater. It increases with the leachate rate, which results mainly from the annual water balance surplus and decreases with the dwelling time of the water in the soil and the resulting increased nitrate withdrawal by the plants. The duration of stay depends mainly on the field capacity determined for the rootable soil space. The discharge hazard is particularly influenced by potential denitrification, longer retention time in the root space (increased depletion by the plants) and a non-quantifiable lateral nitrate input or discharge by interflow at sites affected by congestion. Sites affected by congestion are therefore marked separately. In clay-rich soils that tend to form dry cracks, nitrate shifts can occur despite high field capacity in precipitation events after prolonged dry periods. Such soils (Pelosole, Terrae fuscae) are also marked. Soils made from organogenic substrates are generally characterised by a high retention capacity. Due to their increased mineralisation potential, however, a risk to groundwater (e.g. after a melioration) cannot be ruled out. These locations are also marked separately. However, the increased mineralisation potential is not taken into account in the classification. The site typing takes place according to defined criteria of the method bank of the FIS Soil/Soil Protection. Further information on methodology and evaluation is available upon request. Depending on the output purpose, the result is presented as a complex map with overlapping sub-topics or as a simple classification. — The link(s) for downloading the records is/are generated dynamically from Download Link from a metadata record
