Depth of base Lower Bunt sandstone in duck beak
Description
The base surface of the Lower Bunt sandstone runs at depths between 2400-7 600 m. The maximum depth of up to 7 600 m is measured in the John Basin. In the northwest, in the central area of the duck beak and on large parts of the Schillgrund high, the Lower Bunt sandstone is only relictically preserved. Apart from the relics mentioned above, the horizon has a similar distribution to that of the other Triassic horizons.
