Location yield at 120 m height
Description
Map of site yield for a fictitious wind turbine (WEA) with rotor diameter of 148 m and rated power of 5 MW at 120 m altitude above ground. The power curve of WEA has only a certain range of relevant wind parameters, such as turbulence intensity, inclined flow and wind shearing. In reality, however, these areas of validity are exceeded at many locations. For example, increased turbulence occurs especially in forest sites or in dense placement of WEA. Therefore, a flat-rate deduction of approximately 6 % is recommended when using the site yield.
