Description
The data set consists of very high-resolution vertical views (orthophotos) of the public street space, which do not originate from an aerial flight, but from a driving through the street space. The street ortho images are automatically generated from the laser scanning point clouds in conjunction with the panoramic images of road traffic (see also linked data set). The Streetortho images depict the trafficked street space and the immediately adjacent areas without trees, bridges or moving objects obstructing the view. Areas of the street space that are obscured by static objects, such as parking cars, cannot be mapped. Private roads are also not shown. The image data of underpasses (e.g. bridges) are stored in separate image data (layers). Since 2019, the data has been generated automatically in a 2-year cycle from the data of the panoramic road traffic.
The data is only licensed for internal use in the city administration of Krefeld and is not publicly available.
