Heavy rain hazard information North Rhine-Westphalia (Strong rain NRW)
Description
The heavy rain hazard indications represent the results of the simulation of heavy rain events for the area of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The data contain the maximum water level heights and the maximum flow speeds for a rare (100-yearly) and an extreme event (hN = 90 mm/qm/h). The results were calculated on the basis of a 3D model (DGM1 NRW), ATKIS/ALKIS data NRW, KOSTRA data of the DWD and other complementary spatial data.
This nationwide calculation provides an overview of the danger areas of heavy rain events for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and can serve as a basis for more detailed analyses.
