Organic matter content top layer of the soil

Description

The map with the organic matter content in the top layer of the soil (the top twenty centimeters) was made by Alterra Wageningen. Organic matter in the soil is largely derived from plants and plant roots and for a small part from animal organisms. Organic matter in the soil is important for the binding of nutrients and soil moisture, the structure formation, soil organisms, soil fertility and rootability of the soil profile. Purpose of manufacture: Map of Alterra Wageningen to help with choice of land use
