Description
The VRU assistance system MobiCell, which was developed prototypically as part of the MobiCell project, uses the sensors of a smartphone to record the geoposition and other movement data of an unprotected road user (VRU). These are sent as MQTT messages to a web server and processed there in combination with the same data from other nearby users by a collision algorithm in real time. Based on this data, the collision algorithm calculates the probability of a critical approach or collision and, depending on this, sends a risk level to both users. In addition, an evasive maneuver is calculated and the corresponding reaction is displayed on a user's smartphone display (e.g. stop or drive to the right or left).
Here, an exemplary data set is presented that contains all MQTT messages exchanged between a cyclist and pedestrian during an encounter situation.
