COVID-19 National SARS-CoV-2 waste water surveillance ROAZ region values by date
Description
This file contains per Regional Consultation Acute Care Chain (ROAZ) region, per day, the average number of SARS-CoV-2 virus particles per 100.000 inhabitants, as calculated from measurements of the number of virus particles per sewage treatment plant (RWZI).
The file is structured as follows:
For each date since 2020-09-07, the number of SARS-CoV-2 virus particles in sewage per 100.000 inhabitants has been calculated per ROAZ region. This number is a weighted average of the municipalities belonging to the region concerned.
For each date, the most recent measurement of all RWZIs shall be weighted by the number of inhabitants in the municipality served by the RWZI concerned, provided that the most recent measurement is no older than eight days.
These values per municipality are charged on the municipalities belonging to a ROAZ region, and divided by the number of inhabitants observed (i.e., the number of inhabitants in a municipality connected to RWZIs that have a measurement less than eight days old). This results in a weighted average for the ROAZ region expressed per capita. Multiplying by 100.000 indicates the average number of virus particles per region, per date, per 100.000 inhabitant equivalents.
If none of the RWZIs within a ROAZ region are available that are more recent than 8 days, the record is “NA”.
The file contains per ROAZ region all days from 2020-09-07 to the most recent date for which a value can be calculated. As a result, the most recent date may vary by region.
The figures were calculated on the basis of the municipal classification as in force on the date of the measurement, and the most recent classification of the ROAZ regions.
The information on populations per RWZI can be found in a turnover table provided by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

Which municipalities fall under a ROAZ region can be found at the regional Atlas of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

All measurements of individual RWZIs on which the ROAZ region figure is based can be found in the open data set at RWZI record level (https://data.rivm.nl/meta/srv/dut/catalog.search#/metadata/a2960b68-9d3f-4dc3-9485-600570cd52b9).
Description of variables:
Version: Version number of the dataset. If the content of the dataset is structurally changed (i.e. not the daily update or a correction at record level), the version number will be changed (+ 1) and also the corresponding metadata in RIVMdata (data.rivm.nl).
Date_of_report: Date on which the file was created (format: YYYY-mm-dd).
Date_measurement: Date to which the calculation of the average number of virus particles per 100.000 inhabitants (format: YYYY-mm-dd).
Region_code_lcps: The code of the ROAZ region, as used by the National Coordination Centre for Patients Preparation (LCPS).
Region_name: Name of the ROAZ region.
RNA_flow_per_100000: The calculated number of SARS-CoV-2 RNA particles measured in the sewage water, based on a weighted average of measurements in RWZIs serving the municipalities in the relevant ROAZ region, per 100.000 inhabitants.
Because not all measurements are available at the same time, the most recently reported values are subject to change. This may result in differences in the date of publication of the data. It is also possible that earlier dates are corrected as a result of new laboratory results or corrections in source stocks of the Water Boards. This file is always based on the most up-to-date data.
