Priority area forest growth
Description
Target in the Regional Plan. The forests in the region must be protected and managed in such a way that they can sustainably fulfil their diverse ecological functions for the natural budget, their useful, protective and recreational functions, and thereby constitute suitable habitats for fauna and flora.The share of forests in the region must be increased to at least 18.5 % taking into account typical landscape characteristics. Data come from the Regional Planning Association Leipzig-Westsachsen – legal basis is the Regional Plan West Saxony 2008 (as of 25.7.2008)
