Austrian Biodiversity Monitoring (OeBM) - Cultural Landscape.
Description
Biodiversity is the basis of all life and is influenced by a variety of abiotic, biotic and anthropogenic factors. At present, however, the data situation in Austria is too weak to derive representative and robust biodiversity trends. This study develops a concept for an Austrian biodiversity monitoring of the open cultural landscape (OeBM cultural landscape) - outside the forest and outside settlement areas. The data make it possible to record the status and trends of Austrian biodiversity in the field. The focus is on monitoring habitat and biodiversity throughout Germany. Remote sensing provides other important biodiversity-relevant variables. The concept of the ÖBM cultural landscape was successfully used in the first 49 reception areas in 2017.
