Forest site sensing for the Gesäuse
Description
The result of this thesis is the breakdown of the national park area into site types, the ecological characterisation of the types and the identification of the potentially natural forest societies. The persons responsible are thus given an instrument to determine the closeness of nature of the stocks, as well as for the definition of the target of the conversion of stocks.
The method of data collection and evaluation includes geographical, morphological, soil-related, climatic and vegetation-related aspects. Regional and local important criteria are also used to describe and coordinate site units. This combination of all location factors provides a particularly safe classification.
