Prosperity of individuals; key figures
Description
The purpose of this table is to give an overview of the distribution of wealth of persons in the Netherlands, measured by income.
The figures in this table are broken down by various background characteristics of individuals.
The target population consists of all persons in private households with income, as of 1 January of the reporting year.
In the target population for the topic of low-income persons, persons from student households and households with only part of the year’s income were excluded.
The target population for the subject of economic independence consists of all persons aged 15 to the AOW age in private households with income, excluding students and pupils, as of 1 January of the reporting year.
Data available from: 2011.
Purchasing power development figures are available from 2012.
Status of the figures:
The figures in this table for 2011 to 2019 are final. The figures for 2020 are provisional.
Amendments as of 22 December 2021:
The preliminary figures for 2020 have been added.
When are new figures coming?
New figures will be published in autumn 2022.
New figures on spending are expected in early 2022.
