Description
This table provides data on the composition of household assets according to characteristics such as household composition, age and migration background of the main cost-winner, main source of income, housing situation, income group, asset group and asset class.
Data available from: 2006.
The data relate to the state of power as of 1 January.
Status of the figures:
The figures for 2006 to 2019 are final. The figures for 2020 are provisional.
The compilation of the figures has changed in a few parts per reporting year 2011 compared to previous years:
As of 2011, more complete information on bank and savings deposits and securities will be available. All small assets will also be observed from that moment on. As a result, there are more households with these assets.
As of 2011, more complete debt information is available. Study debts, tax and surcharge debts and loans from banks are fully observed from then on. As of 2014, healthcare debts have also been observed. As a result, there are more households with other debts. Student debts were among the remaining debts up to 2010.
Changes as of 19 October 2021:
The figures for 2019 are final and provisional figures for 2020 have been added.
Changes as of 21 April 2021:
Revised figures for 2006 to 2019 have been added.
Due to the availability of new sources of debt and accrued credit in savings and investment mortgages, and a renewed methodology in the calculation of the significant importance and various other asset items, the capital figures have changed.
When are new figures coming?
New figures for 2021 will be available in autumn 2022.
