WFS - Overground catchment areas
Description
The nationwide GIS database provided here includes the above-ground catchments of the Saxon water network. These are determined primarily on the basis of orographically determined watersheds. In anthropogenic heavily overpopulated catchment areas, further information is consulted. The database of the above-ground catchment areas is based on the information from TK10 (as of 1995) and is continuously qualified and supplemented on the basis of the Saxon water network, the DGM2 and on-the-spot checks. The main river basins in Saxony of the Elbe, Black Elster, Mulde, White Elster, Spree and Lusatian Neisse are formed from the sub-basins. The data are consistent with the list of watercourses kept at the LfULG and the GIS data of the flowing and standing waters. At the national borders, coordination takes place with the neighbouring federal states as well as with the Czech Republic and the Republic of Poland. The update for the GIS services and for the corresponding download takes place every weekend.
