Ports

Description

The dataset contains data on the main Italian ports (351), including geolocation and international coding. The characteristics of the 58 ports of national importance for administrative competence plus other ports of economic importance are given as they deal with arrivals and departures of ships with Gross Tonnage >= 300, for which the port management and traffic control systems send arrival and departure information to other European States, under the SafeSeaNet system (http://www.emsa.europa.eu/sssn-main.html) The information has been supplied from the Harbour offices and the Authorities of Harbour System.
