Master plan Gehen Donaustadt – Foot traffic concept for the 22nd District of Vienna – Vienna
Description
The Federal Government (Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology) launched a new support rail in 2021 as part of “klimaaktiv mobil”, which can also be used for the first time explicitly to promote measures in the field of foot traffic. The basic condition to be able to submit projects for grants at all is the presence of a local master plan going. The eligibility criteria are designed in such a way that these master plans for Vienna must be submitted at district level. The district of Donaustadt is the largest district in Vienna, both in terms of area and in terms of the number of inhabitants. According to a survey of the mobility behaviour of the City of Vienna in the 22nd District 19 % of all walks covered. Action-reductions for Danube City were developed to improve the foot traffic infrastructure and also to increase the quality of stay in public spaces, such as around Essling and Neuessling, the large urban expansion areas.
