Description
Windmills are mills that convert the motion energy of the air (wind) into rotational energy of the blades, which can then be used for, for example, generating electricity, grinding grain or moving water.
Traditional windmills are scattered throughout the province and are monuments that define the identity of the Groningen landscape. In order to preserve their cultural historical place, specific requirements are placed on their environment for their operation. Sneaking developments such as new construction and high planting can limit wind capture.
