Description
The quaternary deposits in Flanders, the youngest deposits, are laterally and vertically heterogeneous and vary greatly in thickness. The deposits are mainly created under continental conditions (river, dune deposits). Actually, they are packages that are rarely more than 30 meters and sometimes even less than 1 meter thick. Because of this great individuality and the high level of detail of the descriptions, their own stratigraphic coding was developed for Flanders.
