Description

This dataset is related to Kela's statistical database Kelasto's dynamic report Valid, started and expired drug reimbursement rights. The dataset contains data on an annual basis since 1986. Compensation rights cover: - diseases qualifying for special compensation, - medicines with limited special reimbursement, - limited basic reimbursable medicines, and - diseases qualifying for reimbursement of a clinical nutritional product. The dataset contains five different metrics that can be used to view the number of claims: - Compensation rights started during the statistical reference year - Compensation rights that ended in death during the statistical reference year - Compensation rights valid during the statistical reference year - Compensation rights valid at the end of the statistical reference year - Compensation rights valid for the entire statistical reference year (from 2019 onwards) The right to compensation may be granted for a fixed period or for an indefinite period. Multiple successive claims periods, with a maximum interval of 90 days and the same claim number, have been counted as the same claim period. If the interval between claims periods was more than 90 days, both claims periods are recorded separately. The validity of the right to reimbursement does not indicate whether the person purchased a medicinal product with that right during the statistical reference year. The data on wellbeing services districts are based on the person's permanent municipality of residence at the end of the statistical reference year or on the date of death if the person died during the statistical reference year. Correspondingly, data on age group and gender are based on customer data that were valid at the end of the statistical reference year or on the date of death. The year of regional division is in accordance with the statistical reference year starting from 2021, older years use regional data in accordance with 2021.
