Transverse structures and fish ascent systems — WMS

Improving biological continuity in flowing waters is part of the overall package “Improving the hydromorphological water situation” and contributes to the implementation of the EC Water Framework Directive (EC-WFD). The State Office for the Environment (LfU) has carried out a Bavarian-wide data collection. A good 58,000 transverse structures (weirs, sole structures, passageways, piping) and fish ascent plants have been recorded and evaluated in the reporting water framework network.
