Category 3 natural potential ammonia-sensitive forest
Description
The Gis theme shows all forests, which in 2010 existed digital registration of, and which are larger than 1⁄2 ha, and which are not located within an international nature conservation area. The map thus shows all forests regardless of the age of the forest and regardless of whether the forest contains or does not contain natural forest-indicating species or old-growth species. In other words, the map does not distinguish between ammonia-sensitive forests and non-ammonia-sensitive forests. The map is used as the basis for the municipality’s examination of whether a forest is ammonia-sensitive, and thus requirements must be set for the maximum ammonia deposition to the forest in connection with environmental approvals of livestock farms, cf. the Livestock Farming Act (Consolidated Act No 256 of 21 March 2017).
